Process control combined with a quality assurance system during the manufacturing of glass mat‐reinforced thermoplastics (GMT) is a crucial aspect in modern processing technology. The quality assurance system should allow the moulder to acquire an online protocol of the component's quality in order to provide the basis for conclusions as to whether or not the molded part meets the quality standard. The part and process design can be planned with lower safety margins whereby material, energy consumption and time can be saved.
