Essential oil of exudates from Pinus oocarpa Schiede, grown in the Andes of Venezuela, was obtained by hydrodistillation in a Clevenger‐type apparatus. A GC – MS analysis showed that α‐pinene and β‐pinene were the main constituents, but the turpentine was also high in heptanes. Copyright © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
