Flash vacuum thermolysis of quinolizinones is a new way of generating ketenes. The title ketene is obtained from 1‐cyano‐2‐hydroxyquinolizine‐4‐one and characterized by its Ar matrix infrared spectrum. (© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH, 69451 Weinheim, Germany, 2002)
