The cover picture shows a possible catalytic cycle of the II ‐catalyzed Claisen rearrangement. Ludwig Claisen (1851−1930) was the first to describe the thermal rearrangement of an allyl vinyl ether into a γ,δ‐unsaturated carbonyl compound. Ludwig Claisen was Professor of Organic Chemistry in Aachen, Kiel and Berlin. He is also famous for the discovery of the Claisen condensation and for inventing the Claisen flask. Catalysis of the Claisen rearrangement of aliphatic allyl vinyl ethers is discussed in the Microreview by M. Hiersemann and L. Abraham on p. 1461 ff.
