The synthesis and characterization of two (dppp)Pt complexes with the stannaborate ligand SnB 11 H 11 is described. In the case of the salt [Bu 3 MeN] 2 [(dppp)Pt(SnB 11 H 11 ) 2 ] the structure in the solid state was determined by X‐ray crystal structure analysis. As a result of comparative catalysis studies between SnCl 3 and [SnB 11 H 11 ] − ‐substituted platinum complexes we found selective hydroformylation of 1‐octene catalysed by the [(dppp)PtPh(SnB 11 H 11 )] − and [(dppp)Pt(SnB 11 H 11 ) 2 ] 2− complexes.
