This review covers synthetic and structural aspects of electrophilic half‐sandwich (carbene)metal complexes of Group‐8 metals as well as the use of these complexes in transformations of organic molecules. These species, including chelate complexes, are involved in C−C bond‐forming reactions in stoichiometric or catalytic processes.
