Reaction of the symmetrical proligand H 3 L with zinc(II) perchlorate gives a product from which the cationic complex [Zn 2 L(OH 2 ) 3 ]ClO 4 and the neutral complex [Zn 2 L(OH)] co‐crystallise in the triclinic space group P $\bar 1$ , with unit cell parameters a = 14.7647(13), b = 16.9376(14), c = 17.8089(15) Å, α = 68.634(2)°, β = 71.356(2)°, γ = 87.526(2)°. The dinuclear zinc centre in [Zn 2 L(OH 2 ) 3 ] + is endogenously bridged by a cresolato‐O atom; in [Zn 2 L(OH)] this bridging mode is enhanced by an exogenous hydroxo bridge.
