The trans ‐[(alkyloxycarbonyl)methyl]tricarbonyl(triphenylphosphane)cobalt complexes [ROC(O)CH 2 ]Co(CO) 3 PPh 3 (R = Me, n Pr, i Pr, t Bu, and c Hex) have been prepared and characterized by IR, 1 H, 13 C, and 31 P NMR spectroscopy. Crystal and molecular structure determination by X‐ray diffraction analysis revealed the following phases: P 1¯ (R = Me), P 2 1 / n (R = n Pr), P 1¯ (R = i Pr), P 2 1 / c (R = t Bu), P 1¯ and P 2 1 / c (R = c Hex). The results show concerted development of chiral conformations (both enantiomers) in all cases.
