A new kind of organometallic polymer of osmium(0) [Os 0 (bpy)(CO) 2 ] n (bpy = 2,2′‐bipyridine) has been prepared as a thin film on an electrode surface by electrochemical reduction of the mononuclear trans (Cl)‐[Os II (bpy)(CO) 2 Cl 2 ] precursor complex. This modified electrode proves to be a good electrocatalyst for the reduction of CO 2 in aqueous media.
