The multiport network model (MNM) has been used for analyzing a semicircular microstrip antenna (SCMSA) with a new method of determining the effective dielectric constant and loading the radiation resistance around the periphery to account for the radiation. The results obtained using this model for the fundamental and higher order modes of an SCMSA are in good agreement with the experimental results. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
