This paper seeks to succinctly evaluate and summarize the large body of literature on the radiation Q of electrically small antennas. The validity of the different analytic models is discussed, with key Q ‐dependent physical properties compared with experimental data and numerical simulations. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
