CAD‐oriented closed‐form expressions are presented for calculating the quasistatic parameters of a conductor‐backed coplanar waveguide (CBCPW) on a cylindrical substrate. The effect of the curvature on the quasistatic parameters is also discussed by using the formulas derived by the conformal mapping techniques. Furthermore, comparisons are made between the present results and the results available in the literature for CBCPW on a planar substrate and microstrip on a cylindrical substrate. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
