The active FDTD technique is used to analyze coplanar strip‐line (CPS) 22.5 and 45° loaded‐line phase shifters. FDTD results compared favorably with HP‐MDS. It is shown that further optimization of the circuit is required to compensate for dispersion and radiative effects. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 26: 379–382, 2000.
