A new technique for microwave mixing uses an optical link composed of a laser diode, an interferometer integrated on glass substrate, and a high‐speed photodetector. We present here measurements and simulations concerning the performances of this system according to the polarization of the light coupled into the component. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
