The performance of a high‐power RF photonic link incorporating a fiber‐based Mach–Zehnder modulator is reported. The 3.2 V dual‐output V π of the fiber modulator, combined with the 100 mA balanced detection scheme, yielded a link gain greater than 13 dB and a +16 dBm input third‐order intercept. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
