Most previous investigations of bulimics' scores on the MMPI have been purely descriptive in nature, without an appropriate comparison group. Also, these studies have used the full MMPI. The purpose of this study was to compare bulimics' responses to the MMPI‐168 to those of non‐eating‐disordered controls. Bulimics showed significantly higher scores on the F, Hypochondriasis, Depression, Hysteria, Psychopathic Deviate, and Psychasthenia scales and lower L and K scores.
