Explored the relationship between a short form of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children–Revised (WISC‐R) and McCarthy Screening Test (MST) for a sample of northeastern Ohio children. The sample consisted of 42 children (24 boys, 18 girls) in grades kindergarten to second whose ages ranged from 4–4 to 7–7 ( M = 62.9 months, SD = 6.5 months). All the subtests except for Leg Coordination scores correlated significantly with the WISC‐R Verbal scale. Implications for the use of the MST are discussed, along with recommendations for further research areas.
