Provided an estimate fo reliability of the McCarthy Scales of Children's Abilities (MSCA). S s were enrolled in private schools and ranged in age from 5 years, 5 months to 6 years, 5 months. Test‐retest correlation for the Perceptual Performance Scale differed significantly from previously reported correlations. This difference may be due to differences between test‐retest intervals or developmental changes that occur at these ages. Intercorrelations for five scales were high; the magnitude of correlations was related to item overlap of different pairs of scales. The MSCA was characterized by a stability factor that makes it competitive with both the S‐B and WPPSI.
