The phase transfer technique was used for surface characterization of natural rubber latex and for preparation of toughened polystyrene based on γ‐radiation vulcanized natural rubber. This process was extended to embed deproteinized natural rubber latex particles, crosslinked by γ‐ray, in polystyrene for morphologically study. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
