The complete 1 H and 13 C chemical shift assignment of two closely related isomeric triterpenoids, 3α,16α,20( R ),25‐tetrahydroxy‐2,11,22‐trioxocucurbita‐5,23( E )‐diene and 3β,16α,20( R )‐trihydroxy‐25‐acetoxy‐2,11,22‐trioxocucurbita‐5,23( E )‐diene, making use of one‐ and two‐dimensional NMR techniques (HMBC, HMQC, COSY and NOESY) is described.
