This paper discusses critical issues in providing services to infants in severely disorganized families. The clinical setting of the program is described as well as assessment and treatment issues specific to this hard‐to‐reach multi‐problem group of parents. In addition to addressing clinical issues in all phases of treatment, the importance of developing community based treatment teams is noted as well as the interface with court related agencies.
