Vincristine and actinomycin D are effective antitumor agents in the treatment of children with Wilms' tumor. The current results of chemotherapy appear to be such that, given optimal clinical circumstances, the use of both drugs in combination might be expected theoretically to achieve a 90% long term survival rate in the primary cases and a 60% retrieval rate in the metastatic cases.
