Twelve cases of peritoneal mesothelioma seen at Memorial Hospital, since 1952, are reviewed. Of four patients treated by total abdominal irradiation plus intraperitoneal injection of 32 P, two survived more than 10 years and another is alive and well 2 years after treatment. The last patient benefited by more than 1 1/2 years of palliation. All other patients died within 2 years after treatment. It is recommended that all patients with malignant peritoneal mesothelioma be treated by total abdominal irradiation and intraperitoneal instillation of colloidal 32 P.
