Eight cases of lobular carcinoma in situ of the breast were examined by the technique of Feulgen microspectrophotometry. In seven of these cases, the nuclear DNA values fell within the diploid to tetraploid range whereas the other was aneuploid. In the five cases of invasive lobular carcinoma similarly examined, three were diploid to tetraploid and two were aneuploid. Adjacent areas of lobular carcinoma in situ in three cases were diploid to tetraploid, and one metastasis was aneuploid with a hypodiploid mode.
