The case of an 8 1/2‐year‐old child with a Grade 3 ovarian teratoma is presented. Six months after removal of the tumor, she was found to have a Grade 0 secondary teratoma and Grade 0 glial peritoneal implants. Findings support the concept that the rupture of an ovarian teratoma which contains primitive and multipotential tissues can result in implantation and subsequent development of benign implants and secondary teratomas.
