Survival following treatment for carcinoma of the endometrium was evaluated in 761 women. An unexpected finding was a higher 5‐year relative survival ratio for women who received radiation therapy following hysterectomy than for those who had hysterectomy without subsequent radiotherapy. This difference in survival rates was most pronounced in women with tumors confined to the corpus uteri but with unfavorable nuclear grades.
