Carcinoma metastatic to the choroid is a grave prognostic sign. Seven cases were seen in the Division of Radiation Therapy at the University of California at Los Angeles, from 1961 to 1970. All the patients were women. Three cases were from breast primaries, 3 from lung primaries, and one primary remained occult. The average survival after the onset of ocular symptoms was 9.3 months. The longest survival was only 16 months. All were treated with radiation therapy. Three showed marked improvement, 3 showed slight improvement, and only one received no benefit. The pertinent literature is reviewed.
