Since every woman diagnosed and treated for breast cancer has potential metastatic disease, the physician who manages her case mut be prepared to advise her in all phases of her disease. She must have a “partner against cancer” who can expertly advise her in every phase of management. This man may be the family physician. The general practitioner must shoulder the responsibility for coordination of care with his specialist friends and be constantly aware of personalization of treatment.
