Six A 2 cell microadenomas of the islet of Langerhans were found in the resected left hemipancreas of a patient with multiple endocrine syndrome. In spite of the absence of an increased plasma glucagon level, the diagnosis was based on the histochemical and electron microscopic features. Metabolic and hormonal data are reported. It is impossible to certify that these microadenomas were functional, as extraction of glucagon was not performed due to the small size of these tumors.
