Ultrastructural observations are made on an osteoid type of osteogenic sarcoma arising in the talus. The osteoblasts are identified by the elaborate rough‐surfaced endoplasmic reticulum which commonly forms dilated channels and cisterns. The stromal matrix shows abundant fibrils identified as collagen which criss‐cross in random fashion. Despite variation in cell patterns of different types of osteogenic sarcomas, they are nevertheless distinctive enough on the ultrastructural level to render them diagnostic.
