Two cases designated malignant mesothelioma arising from the tunica vaginalis propria testis are described. The pathological diagnosis was based upon the clinical findings, gross and microscopic morphology, special stains, histocheaical reactions, and likeness to the reported examples of mesothelioma arising from the pleural and peritoneal mesothelial surfaces. Each patient presented with hydrocele and a suspicious scrotal mass. The malignant character of the neoplasms was demonstrated by the growth pattern, cytological alterations, extensive tissue invasion and, in the first case, by metastases to lymph nodes. An origin from testis, epididymis, or other visceral epithelial surfaces was excluded. The first individual is alive but with evidence of recurrent tumor. The second patient died within 3 years of the time of diagnosis.
