An experiment to elucidate the effect of necrotic tumor on hepatocellular ultrastructure is described. No detectable changes were produced over an experimental period of 5 weeks. Hepatocellular lysosome numbers were quantitated, and analysis of the data revealed that necrotic tumor has no effect on lysosome numbers. These findings are discussed within the context of the known data on the liver of the tumor‐bearing host.
