Abstract Primary tumors of the great omentum are not common. Most of the described and well‐documented tumors are leiomyomas, leiomyosarcomas and hemangiopericytomas. A patient with primary malignant hemangioendothelioma of the omentum will be described. The clinical course of this patient resembled that described in the literature on other intraperitoneal hemangioendotheliomas and was characterized by severe recurrent intraperitoneal bleeding.
