The survival of 253 patients with ovarian cancer is reported and findings are correlated with tumor type, stage of disease and treatment modalities. Staging of the tumor (determination of exact anatomical extent) is of utmost importance in choosing the proper therapy for any patient. The proper use of adjunctive irradiation and an aggressive surgical approach may offer an excellent chance of survival to a large segment of patients who have locally advanced ovarian cancer.
