A documented case of long‐time persistence of a large renal carcinoma is presented. The tumor was recognized and considered inoperable 37 years prior to the patient's death. It was proven by laparotomy and incision biopsy. Nearly 37 years later, the tumor metastasized and caused the death of the patient. The peculiar biologic behavior of this particular renal neoplasm is discussed.
