Following surgically‐induced atresia of the cervix, a 69‐year‐old female developed pyometra with multicentric squamous cell carcinomas of the uterine corpus. Evidence is presented to justify the assumption that pyometra caused the tumors through the intermediate stages of squamous metaplasia, leukoplakia and carcinoma in situ of the endometrium.
