Combining molybdenum and zirconia such that a cermet could be made to contain a maximum percentage of oxide, while still maintaining a continuous metal matrix is the goal of the authors. With their innovative method they get an electrically conductive Mo–ZrO 2 cermet with a low metal content and high thermal‐shock resistance.
