The changes of electrochemical parameters on vanadium in 0.5 M NaCl solution at different potentials ranging from − 0.155 (E corr ) to 1000 mV (SCE) are studied using the AC impedance method. It is found that the charge‐transfer resistance decreases with increasing potential. At potentials ≤ 500 mV both the metal charge‐transfer and diffusion processes occur on the electrode. At potentials more than 500 mV, the electrode reaction is under metal charge‐transfer control. Study of the effect of temperature on the vanadium at open circuit potential and the value of activation energy support one‐electron transfer step as the rate determining corrosion process.
