Gas jet is a common phenomena in gas‐solids fulidized beds. In design of gas distributors, a very high speed for the gas flowing through a porous plate is always selected to prevent the falling of particles through the orifices in the plate. Thus a series of gas voids will appear above the gas distributors, which are so‐called jets. Due to jets disturbance, large amount of fluctuations of bed density and strong mixing and effective contact between gas and solids are found in the distributor region.
