The catalytic reduction of nitrate to nitrogen is a promising tool for drinking water treatment and reduction of nitrate in waste water effluents. The authors present results from the reduction of nitrate to nitrogen with hydrogen over PdCu and PdSn catalysts. Differences between the two catalysts are compared, and the reactor system designed for the studies is presented.
