Generally methyl‐ tert ‐butylether, which is used as an octane enhancer in gasoline, is produced in liquid phase reactions between a branched olefin and a linear alcohol. In this paper, a theoretical analysis is presented for the interaction of multicomponent liquid phase mass transport phenomena with the MTBE reaction scheme in a macroporous ion exchange resin.
