The efficiency of chemical processes mainly depends on decisions, which are made in the phase of process synthesis. The industrial application of mathematical methods for process synthesis mainly tended to fail in the past due to the existing MINLP systems. With access to a physical property database and using a two‐stage approach, the authors report on the developed mathematical program system (PSANO).
