The reuse of municipal waste water is limited by persistant organic water pollutants and microorganisms that are not removed by conventional mechanical and biological treatment. Using TiO 2 and ultraviolet irridation, the authors present the photocatalytic detoxification and disinfection of pretreated wastewater, which can in principle be reused for both agricultural and industrial production.
