In Germany small and middle sized companies mainly represent the foodstuff industry. Automatic acquisition of process data, documentation of sensory product quality tests, and combined evaluation of this information using standard hardware and software were used to evaluate the process control. Interrelationships of product characteristics, which were determined from the running production data, allow for quick responses to changing process situations and allow one to forecast quality parameters.
