The well‐known Richardson‐Zaki correlation for the prediction of the expansion behavior of mono‐component fluidized beds is generalized for the liquid fluidization of the binary solids. The capability of the proposed generalization to describe the expansion and layer inversion behavior is demonstrated by comparing its predictions with the experimental data taken from the literature.
