Local measurements of solid concentration in depth wound cartridge filters using X‐ray computerized tomography (XCT) are described. The filters were contaminated with glass bead particles, which exhibit high contrast in the tomographic images. Segmentation of the successive original slices was applied and solid profile concentrations along the filters were obtained. 3D reconstruction techniques permitted the modeling of the spatial distribution of the solid particles captured by the filters.
