An amperometric enzyme sensor for the analysis of D ‐lysine is described. The sensor uses benzoquinone as mediator for electron transfer between immobilized D ‐amino acid oxidase and a glassy carbon electrode. A linear current response, proportional to D ‐lysine concentration in the range 1–10mM, was observed. The influence of oxygen, pH, and operating potential on the sensor performance were examined.
