Polarography and cyclic voltammetry were used to investigate the electrochemical behavior of trimethylarsine oxide (TMAO), an important product of the natural arsenic cycle. A differential pulse polarographic method is proposed for the determination of trimethylarsine oxide in the concentration range between 0.6 and 30 mg As / L. The feasibility of simultaneous determinations of TMAO with other arsenic compounds such as arsenite, methylarsonic acid and dimethylarsinic acid is discussed.
