Self‐assembly of low‐molecular‐weight amphiphiles into long cylindrical aggregates is taken advantage of here to synthesize functional membranes (see Figure), in which the channels are chemically fixed to the matrix to prevent them from being leached out. The ion transport properties of these membranes are evaluated and the mechanism of transport considered.
