Communication: Electrostrictive actuators and multilayer capacitors are two potential applications for PMN‐PT (the title compound). Its preparation by mechanochemical reaction at room temperature as an ultrafine nanocrystalline powder of perov skite structure is reported here. The Figure shows a scanning electron micrograph of the fracture surface of PMN‐PT following sintering at 1050 °C for 1 h
